Profits for companies in the commercial printing business have made gains for seven quarters in a row, with profits expected to total $3.6 billion in 2011, according to a study by Joe Webb published on What They Think.
The profits are expected to be higher than the $3.55 billion it took in turning the four quarters of 2010, and are based on statistics from the Commerce Department. He writes that the numbers could be subject to change based on industry pricing structures.
"The business press, and all of us, for that matter, lose sight of how big Washington's budget is," he writes. "The newly proposed jobs stimulus of the President is about $400 billion. That's more than the profits of 100 printing industries at current rates. But we're just one industry, and those $3.6 billion in profits were through the efforts of 470,000 people working in about 27,000 establishments."
Using strategies like direct mail can have major benefits to a company's marketing outreach efforts. By engaging consumers with printed material, business professionals will be able to get the word out about their products or services.
