Networking is one of the most important ways for business-to-business companies to reach prospective clients and customers. Through events, trade shows, industry get-togethers and printing and mailing initiatives, business owners are able to meet tens or even hundreds of leads.
The trick, though, is getting them to remember you and your business. One of the best ways to do this is through business cards – they contain all of a company's important information, including physical address, web location, phone numbers and social media pages.
However, due to their status as a more traditional marketing item, many business owners often settle for a bland, run-of-the-mill design. In fact, in an article for the Huffington Post, Michael Tasner remarks that 95 percent of the business cards he has seen are ineffective.
"Make your card stand out and load it up with information," Tasner writes. "If this one item was the only thing a potential customer had, would it move the needle forward towards a sale or farther away?"
Businesses can improve their chances of leaving their mark on a contact by including a message on back of the card or slapping a quick response code on it. QR codes will also communicate that your business is up on the latest trends.
