One organization that recently saw results from this effort is Old Spanish Missions. The nonprofit is dedicated to preserving historical sites from centuries{-}old Spanish missions. Diana Aguirre Martinez, who works as the organization’s development director, said that she was able to raise money for a recent project to save the Alamo from disrepair.
She said the mailers helped the charity raise more than $15 million that will ensure future generations are able to view the historical site for years to come. Through the materials, people were able to learn about events and bring a higher level of awareness to the efforts.
