QR Codes can help businesses

One of the most popular methods being used in the printing business is quick response codes. The barcode items can be seen on everything from brochures to posters and allow people with smartphones to scan them in and learn more about products or services being offered.

However, according to some experts, companies often try to cram too much information onto the codes. In a recent column for WhatTheyThink.com, Randy Herron writes that he tells clients to simply put the most compelling content possible, even coupons, into the high-tech system.

“They are always trying to cram so much stuff in the ads that they don’t look attractive anymore and I think there is too much information on it,” he says. “We have been talking with [clients] for probably about four or five months trying to convince them that the way to go is to just pick maybe three for four key items and then have a QR code at the bottom with everything else and they were worried about people not going to the QR code.”
