This past holiday season saw millions of businesses and people sending packages, complete with printed material including brochures, distributing well wishes and information about upcoming savings opportunities.
One of the leading mailing firms, FedEx, shipped 260 million pieces of mail between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve. According to insiders, consumers began sending out gifts and cards earlier than they have in the past. In an interview with TriCities.com, FedEx spokesman Christ Stanley said it was one of its busiest times of the year.
"That's a pretty good indication of how early people were ordering holiday items and how soon they were getting shipped out," Stanley said. He went on to say that the company had experienced "a pretty smooth holiday season," and that the busiest day of the year had been on December 12, when 17 million items were shipped.
Getting the perfect printed material to promote a business can make a big difference in terms of consumer engagement levels and overall exposure in a marketplace. Touting reasons why a particular organization has a leg-up on competition can affect consumer behavior and help increase the bottom line.
