Holidays seasons mean higher consumer engagement through printed materials

When it comes to introducing a new print marketing campaign, business professionals must think about which approaches are most likely to make an impact with recipients. By looking at what trends are most popular and how people have historically responded, print marketers will be able to achieve better engagement.

These days, with more people than ever using smartphones on a daily basis, many businesses are turning to quick response codes when they send out printed items. One sector that has jumped on the QR code bandwagon is the greeting card industry.

Hallmark, perhaps the best-known company in the industry, recently rolled out a series of Halloween-based cards, featuring interactive QR codes. One of the firm's biggest clients, children, will be able to enjoy the added features with Disney characters.

"Halloween is truly a season to celebrate kids," said Monic Houpe, Hallmark product manager. "What more do kids enjoy than videos of their favorite characters? We have heard feedback from moms that Halloween is the perfect time to capture the attention of their kids and extend the fun of a greeting card."
